Rev. Randy Lockyear

RevRandy As rector of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, which is the parish of Grand Falls, I welcome you to our parish website and invite you to inquire about anything you see here or don't see here. We moved to the parish on January 9th, 2002 and will soon be entering into my 10th year as rector.  It is a wonderful parish, with very caring and supportive people, very much family oriented and welcoming.  Just a little about me and my family. My wife Ada and I celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary on September 16th, 2015.  Ada is from Westport and I was born and grew up in Hampden.  We met and married when I was rector of the then parish of Westport and lived in Springdale.  Our first son, Kirklind, was born there on March 16th, 1997.  When he was almost 6 months old, we moved to Cox's Cove, on the North Shore of the Bay of Islands, and I was appointed rector of the parish.  Ada worked as an LPN at the hospital in Corner Brook.  It was there that our second son, Dylan, was born on January 6th, 2000. He had just turned 2 when we moved to Grand Falls - Windsor, when I was appointed rector.  By this time, we were expecting our third child, and yes our third son, Adam, born August 30th, 2002.  After taking time off from work to care for the boys and her mother, Ada returned to work as an LPN at the Carmelite House.  I have spent all my ministry years in NL, having graduated from MUN with a B.A. in 1989.  I entered Queen's College and graduated from there with a M. Div. (Hons) on April 28th, 1992; was ordained a deacon on April 29th, 1992; and priested on October 18th of the same year. In addition to my duties as rector of the parish, I also represent our church in the wider community, as chair of the Ministerial Association, chaplain to the Royal Canadian Legion, Chaplain to the district RCMP, Regional Dean for the Deanery of Grand Falls.  We have many exciting programs happening at Holy Trinity and something for every age group.  I invite you to check it out by visiting us - our services are every Sunday morning at 8:30 am, 10:30 am, and every second Sunday evening at 7:00 pm.  We also do a mid-week eucharist in the chapel at 9:30 am on Thursdays.  If you would like me to speak with you or if you have any questions please call me at 709-489-6597. May God bless you and your family. The Rev. Randy Lockyer Rector
